Okay, I found this site and saved it to ad to my links page of my site, but I thought it might interest some people on here as two of the programs are free. One is called Lightning Express and this is a screen magnification program and is free to download, but doesn't really install permanently on the computer so you can download it and use it like at libraries and places like that.
The other one is called Thunder and this is a screen reader.
There are a couple of other Lightning programs, one has speech along with magnification and Thunder plus, but those you have to pay for. I'm putting the url in regular type in case the stupid link won't work as for somereason I keep having trouble with linking things.

Okay, don't use the actual link. Copy and paste. Damn! I'm doing the code right so I don't know why the link isn't working!

Okay, I tried it again. I think I've been forgetting the first quote.

Damn! You were right. I was forgetting the first quote. Now the link actually works. And as for Thunder, never tried it, but it was a free program and so is the Lightning Express, so I just put them out there in case anyone wanted to try them as full versions of screen readers can be quite expensive.

I didn't used to like thunder, but I think they've improved it quite a bit since it first came out.

How do you write the HTML tags anyway? I've never been able to figure out how to do it.

If I ever have to reformat, I might try using Thunder, because I have no keys left for JAWS.

Take a look at post 5. Its all spelled out in letters and all one big long thing so you'll have to separate it into words. In a link; it does all go together like that. There is only a real space between the lessa href
and in the web page description like it zooms
I kept forgetting the first quote. but maybe I can fix it a bit so you can read it better.

Let me try...hmmmm
ok, I think I have an idea.
less-then sign,a, href,=,quote,URL,quote,greater then sign,descriptive text,less then sign,slash,a,greater then sign.
Ok, see if that helps. You'll still have to look it probably either character by character or word by word, but that might be better. The parts that do not have spaces, are right next to the commas. But the a href has a space after the it because after you put the anchor tag, you put a space then href..

I really hate Thunder. that program is awful! If you want a good free program for windows, go with NVDA.

another great program to go if you using a public computer is SAToGo. it require you to log on to their website, but ones you logon, it has voice promp authomaticly.

I've tried Thunder, but didn't like it much (mainly because there are not many quick navigation keys and because you always have to press an OK button after you enter something in an edit field, but that could just be WebIE in general; not sure wich one it is.) I do like the sounds part of thunder though. What I do use though at times is WebIE and some of the accessories (mainly the clock and the calendar part). I use WebIE because for whatever reason, IE doesn't play all sounds, and I can use both Firefox and WebIE with NVDA. But yeah, the free screenreaders I use are NVDA and SAToGo. I do think Thunder is alright because it starts up quickly every time you start your computer, it has a lot of sounds, and and the WebIE part can be good for where someone is having trouble with but needs to access regular IE.

I went to some site freescreanreaders.com or something like that and found NVDA. How do you get it to work?
